Ukuhlelwa kwamagama ngesiqu kudinga ukuthi umsebenzisi wesichazamazwi abenolwazi olujulile ngokwakheka kwamagama esiZulu. Kwakuyisifiso sombhalike ukuthi azame indlela yokuhlanganisa isiqalo nesiqu kulesisichazamazwi ukuze kungabinzima ukusebenzisa lesisichazamazwi noma ungenalo ulwazi olujulile ngokwakheka kwamagama esiZulu.
Kunjalo-nje lesisichazamazwi sichicilelwe ngaphandle kwemibandela ye-copyright ngoba kwakuyisifiso sikaSolwazi Nkabinde ukuthi isiZulu sithuthukiswe ngokwandisa ulwazi ngaso nangokwandisa ukusetshenziswa kwaso. Ngakhoke unelungelo lokusebenzisa nokwengeza kulomsebenzi wokugcina kaSolwazi Nkabinde ngaleyondlela ofisa ngayo ukuze luthuthukiswe ulimi lwesiZulu.
Isichazamazwi 3 is the third monolingual isiZulu dictionary authored by the late Professor AC Nkabinde. It was written by hand by him towards the end of his life. Unfortunately, the author passed away before explaining in his own words what sets this dictionary apart from the others he previously authored. Nevertheless, what is noticeable in this dictionary is that the arrangement of the words defined is different from his previous dictionaries in that the words defined in this dictionary combine the prefix and the stem of the word whereas in his previous dictionaries the words have no prefix.
Arranging the defined words using the stem only requires that the user of the dictionary should have a deep understanding of isiZulu morphology. It was the author’s wish to attempt to find a way of combining the prefix and stem in this dictionary to make it easier to use the dictionary even without such deep morphological understanding.
In addition, this dictionary is published without the reservation of copyright as it was Professor Nkabinde’s wish that isiZulu be developed further through an enhanced dissemination of knowledge concerning the language and through achieving an increase in its use. You may therefore use and add to this last work by Professor Nkabinde in whatever manner you may wish to in order to develop isiZulu further.
